It Doesn’t Matter Who Wins The Next UK Elections, It will Be Much Of The Same Thereafter

After almost an eternity of having the Labour party rule in the UK, it would appear that they are set for a defeat at the hands of the Conservatives. Or are they? The polls have shown that since 2007, there have been times when the Labour party was way in front, while at other times, the Conservatives showed to lead. But either way, will the winner change things from thereafter? The answer is NO.

Regardless of who wins the next Read the rest of this entry »

Advertising is a beast, isn’t it? It’s a beast that can get you anywhere at anytime. It’s the modern-day equivalent of the rampaging, got-out-of-the-wrong-side-of-bed-Triceratops. Instead of running away from a dinosaur (which cave-men never did, but let’s not be pedantic), the modern man must instead, dash (with brief-case and while operating Blackberry) from a fleet of rampaging hair-care products, portable music devices and ferocious flat-screen TVs that will stop at nothing to sell themselves for the highest price Read the rest of this entry »

What's the point in voting?

The election is looming apparently. We are all expected to do our bit and troop off to the polling stations to put our x next to the name of some idiot in a suit that doesn’t care or understand about us. I’m sure that I’m not the only person thinking ‘why bother?’

I’m sure that I will have all the do-gooders, all those people who get a strange kick out of politics, all those who lecture us and tell us Read the rest of this entry »

Notebook Heaven

Here it is: I don’t know what the latest Notebook / Laptop computer is. I have no idea and I really don’t give a monkey’s. My phone? I don’t even know the model-number (other than that it’s three years old and the battery is about to die…) Giga and Mega whatsits are all good and well, too, but why should I really care? I have my trusty laptop which does the job, and considering I only use it for typing Read the rest of this entry »

Do the words Stephen and Fry bring you out in a cold sweat? Do you wilt and die a little bit inside every time someone looks you in the eye and asks you to do simple multiplication that even your children can do with their eyes closed? Were you someone who failed their driving theory test thirteen times but says “Me? Once, of course!”when someone asks you how many times your driving theory test took? Maybe you hated the kid Read the rest of this entry »

How many of us can say that we truly trust another human being with any important information about ourselves? I reckon that there are not that many of us who would and those that do are setting themselves up to be disappointed.

Friendship is a concept we are all used to. We surround ourselves with people that we have things in common with. They are people who share the same passions, same interests and hobbies and the same tastes in Read the rest of this entry »

The Panda—it has to be one of the world’s most beloved cuddly animals, doesn’t it? It’s cute, it’s furry, and it’s dying out rapidly: three of the ingredients any endangered animal worth its salt needs to be at the top of the charts.

This story really put a downer on my day: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/8497973.stm

I could empathize with the two Panda’s in question, since I too had moved to a foreign country and started a new life. How cruel, I Read the rest of this entry »

How To Make Friends From Enemies.

Some people are really awkward to deal with. I don’t know why it is but there are some folk who just seem to be brimming over with attitude. The thing is, if you let them get to you then you will end up just like them! They will make you feel miserable and you will pass on your new found negativity to other people. If this happens then they have won! They will have succeeded because you have become just Read the rest of this entry »

Doctor, Doctor.

Why are today’s GPs so lazy?

Years ago it was a part of their job to travel to the homes of patients who were too sick to get in to the surgery, but not anymore. Now it is all but impossible to get a doctor to visit someone at home.

My parents, who are both eighty years old, have been really poorly on a few different occasions. Each time they have rung the doctor he has refused to come Read the rest of this entry »

A Wrong Angle.

What is it with people and fishing? In just about every job I have had, there have been loads of blokes there who are nuts about going fishing. They sit talking about it for hours on end and showing each other photographs of themselves holding a large carp or trout.

It is sooooooooo boring!!! For God’s sake, why would anyone want to spend their day off work sitting on a river bank waiting for ‘a bite’? People like this really Read the rest of this entry »
