First Words

Standing in the queue at the supermarket the other day, I noticed – couldn’t help but notice, even I couldn’t help but notice this – that the woman in front of me was carrying a baby on her front and the baby was smiling and giggling.
Ah, how sweet (no sarcasm: it was actually quite sweet, sorry, HE was sweet). Every now and again the baby would look over his mother’s shoulder at me and make a funny face – Read the rest of this entry »

Farming Issues

While most children LOVED going to the farm to see all the pigs and piglets and cows and goats, I myself was absolutely terrified. Of horses, mainly (but also of cows too, because they always had mean looking faces). And if you’re asking why, that is so, pondering the majestic quality of these ancient beautiful horse creatures, then let me ask You Why not? They are big, scary, and terrify me even as an adult. So it’s not really surprising Read the rest of this entry »

Business blogs are notoriously boring and business-ey, aren’t they? They lull you in with fancy graphics and then, when they have you firmly in their grasp, they bore you to tears with hideous spread-sheets and mind-numbing statistics. Grr!

Not Enigin. Who are Enigin I hear you cry? Well, Enigin are a business lot yes, and no doubt they know a thing or two about statistics as well – they wouldn’t be very good at their job if they didn’t, Read the rest of this entry »

Be Careful With Chocolate

As soon as I saw Charlie and the chocolate factory (the original) I knew I wanted to see my name in lights. There was just something about the golden ticket–the way Charlie looked at it–I wanted to be that boy! I wanted my very own most excellent golden ticket and I wanted grandparents that both slept in the same bed and were always around to tell riveting stories! And so I got in to chocolate eating in a big way, Read the rest of this entry »

Advertising is a beast, isn’t it? It’s a beast that can get you anywhere at anytime. It’s the modern-day equivalent of the rampaging, got-out-of-the-wrong-side-of-bed-Triceratops. Instead of running away from a dinosaur (which cave-men never did, but let’s not be pedantic), the modern man must instead, dash (with brief-case and while operating Blackberry) from a fleet of rampaging hair-care products, portable music devices and ferocious flat-screen TVs that will stop at nothing to sell themselves for the highest price Read the rest of this entry »

Notebook Heaven

Here it is: I don’t know what the latest Notebook / Laptop computer is. I have no idea and I really don’t give a monkey’s. My phone? I don’t even know the model-number (other than that it’s three years old and the battery is about to die…) Giga and Mega whatsits are all good and well, too, but why should I really care? I have my trusty laptop which does the job, and considering I only use it for typing Read the rest of this entry »

Maybe it is because I am getting older, but television commercials drive me absolutely nuts. The minute that they come on I am desperately searching for the mute button on the remote control. I strongly object to being bombarded by things that do not interest me.

Bearing this in mind, it was really nice to stumble upon this post by someone else who feels just the same.

If the average person actually sat through all of the commercials between programs Read the rest of this entry »

Hi

Hallelujah! I got round to the long awaited blog that I’ve been promising you all I’d do for some time now. As you probably know I’m pretty new to the massive online world that is the web so it’s taken me a good stretch of time to find out how to do this the right way. I have a ton of internet savvy mates who’ve helped me set this up and I’m sure once I’ve done it a few times I’ll be able to maintain it by myself! Until then however I may just ask my knowledgable web geeks!

So I checked out all those terrible social networking sites – you know the ones, Bebo, Facebook, Myspace you get the idea. All fine and dandy and everything, but none of them seemed to have any attraction to me when it came to blogs. I mean, yeah you can make one but they’re more about connecting with old friends and people you haven’t seen for ages or just lost contact with over time. The thing is while it’s nice to link up with these people, surely there’s a reason why you didn’t want to stay in touch?! Not that I have anything against them in particular, but I don’t think they give a monkey’s about what I’ve got to say.

If you’re reading this and you’re a mate, lemme know what you think. If not, please don’t.

Until then, take care my loyal blog viewers!
